North Homes, Inc. offers Domestic Infant and Minnesota Waiting Children Adoptions. We serve all of northern Minnesota, and are actively seeking adoption families for children from birth to seventeen years of age.
We are looking for people who have a sincere interest and a dedicated attitude toward children who have been neglected, abused, homeless, or abandoned. Finding the right home for the child (or children) is our most important concern. The adoptive parent (or parents) may be single, married, childless, or already parenting other birth or adopted children. They may be divorced or handicapped, rent or own their own home, and have any range of income. If you have ever considered adoption, we may be able to help.
The first step in the adoption process is to attend a two-hour orientation. After which, individuals attend 16 hours of training offered by the Minnesota Adoption Resource Network and North Homes Adoption Services. This training helps potential adoptive parents consider the unique challenges associated with special needs adoptions. This is a time to realistically consider what type of child they are prepared to parent, and whether or not they can make a lifelong commitment to a child with special needs.
