JOB OPENINGS: Youth Counselors - Bemidji

North Homes Children and Family Services, a 501-c (3) human service agency providing a continuum of services for at-risk youth, is currently accepting applications for Full-Time and Part-Time Youth Counselors. It is the youth counselor's primary responsibility to provide day-to-day supervision, care, and guidance to residents assigned to their unit. Counselors provide a safe and healthy treatment milieu designed to meet the emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual needs of the residents. The counselor provides a positive role model for the residents to emulate and is responsible for teaching a variety of communications, coping, problem solving, and social skills. This will be for all shifts which may include weekends and holiday.

Candidates must be responsible, mature, self-motivated individuals who posses a desire to work with at-risk youth, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to set firm limits.

Qualifications: must be 21 years of age, have a valid Minnesota driver's license, and have a high-school diploma or GED. Post-secondary education in the Human Service / Law Enforcement fields or equivalent experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Salary: Starting hourly rate of $13.50 or more based on education and/or experience
