About the Camp

Camp Ruby is located 25 miles north of Grand Rapids, MN on a pristine lake and set in the beautiful northwoods of Chippewa National Forest. The well-kept lodge, kitchen facilities, sleeping cabins, waterfront and 20 acres of woodlands offer North Homes, Inc. a unique opportunity for programming valuable outdoor recreation, and therapeutic experiences for the youth and families we serve. We hope all the kids and adults who come in contact with North Homes, Inc. programming will have an opportunity to experience the Ruby Magic.

Activities

Camp Ruby enables us to provide work experience day treatment programming for both IJC and foster care youth. Environmental education, picnics, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and overnight trips with our staff and foster families are only some of the activities which can be enjoyed at the camp. More importantly, Camp Ruby Lake can provide an important link, not only to nature and the environment, but also to solitude and a sense of well being.
