The Secure Correctional Program provides a dispositional alternative to District Court for secure detention and corrections programming. This program is available to young men and women ages 12 - 18 utilizing "Thinking for a Change" curriculum, with components of group living and behavior management.
The goals of this program are: 
•To effect change in thinking so that behavior is positively impacted
•Provides a less restrictive dispositional alternative on an outpatient basis or as a component of residential/secure programming
•Encompasses 22 lessons
•Youth in secure program will complete full program in 6-7 weeks
•Youth attending program as an out-patient community resource will complete full program in 12 weeks (attending 2 days per week)
•Cognitive behavior programs have evolved over the last 30 years and have proven to be effective
This program is licensed by the State of Minnesota's Department of Corrections. 35-Day Evaluations are also available on the secure unit. The evaluation team provides a number of assessments including: Behavioral, Psychological, Psychiatric, Culture, Recreational, Academic, Family, Family History, Health Screening, Rule 25, Psycho-Sexual, and Neurological or FAS/FAE evaluations.
