North Homes Inc. has recently completed construction of a Residential Treatment Cottage.  The Cottage offers a therapeutic living environment to help adolescents gain the skills they need to be successful in their home, community and school.

The Cottage is a 16 bed residential treatment program licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services to provide residential care and treatment for young men and women ages 12-18 in a cottage setting.  The Cottage provides a safe and healthy living environment.  Residents work through a structured level system to achieve their individual treatment goals.  The team approach is utilized in the cottage program, with goals and outcomes individualized to best meet the needs of the adolescent.  The Cottage is staffed by mental health practitioners and professionals who provide treatment, supervision and support to each resident.

Core values of respect, responsibility and caring are taught and reinforced in all areas of programming including individual and group therapy, on-site education provided by ISD 318, activities of daily living, family interactions and therapy and recreational activities.  Parents and guardians are important partners in each resident's treatment.  Regular time is set aside each month for parent participation.

North Homes, Inc. full complement of services is available to all young adults in our residential programs.  These services are identified in the individual treatment plan as developed by the treatment team.  Treatment plans are reviewed weekly to assess resident levels and goals that have been attained.  Discharge planning begins at admission and is linked to goal attainment.
