In Home Family Services

Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports are designed to strengthen families in an effort to reduce the need for out-of-home placements.  This service is covered under public insurance.

We will assist in verifying an individual's insurance coverage.

Upon referral, and if necessary, a child or adolescent under 21 years of age completes a diagnostic assessment with a mental health professional to assist in formulating goals and objectives identified by the child and the child's family.

Mental health practitioners, in conjunction with mental health professionals, work with family members in the family home and develop treatment goals and interventions that focus on the mental health needs of the child and the child's family in an effort to:

  • Treat the symptoms causing issues in the family environment.
  • Improve family functioning with parent education, behavior management and skill building.
  • Enhance daily living skills.
  • Improve performance in educational and recreational settings.
  • Improve interpersonal and family relationships.

Prevention and Intervention services are also provided by our in-home professional staff to work with youth reunifying with their families and communities after an out of home placement.  This service is designed to assist youth in integrating new skills into new behaviors after returning home.  These skills serve to strengthen healthy behaviors.

In Home Family Services can also be provided to families who need help in developing parenting skills.  These services are available to all families, biological, foster or adoptive.

To make a referral or to learn more about these services, simply call (218) 327-3000 or (888) 430-3055 (toll free) and ask for In Home Family Services.  Our receptionist will ask for:

  4. If a diagnostic assessment has been completed within the last six months, the date and diagnosis.
