Laura Hansen

Laura is an LGSW and started with North Homes, Inc. in April of 2009. Laura comes to NHI with great experience working in the Native American Community. She was formally working at the Bug-O-Nay-Gee-Shig school and at Red Lake Schools as a school counselor. Laura works with all populations and is working on her specialty area of interest. Laura is working on her LICSW and is being clinically supervised by Kathy Faver.

Richard William Faver (Bill), MA, LP

Bill joined North Homes, Inc. in the fall of 2005.  Prior to that he spent 13 years working as a Psychologist with Upper Mississippi Mental Health Center.  Bill provides individual and family psychotherapy, Diagnostic Assessments, psychological testing and evaluations and facilitates psychotherapy groups at the Bemidji NWJTC. Bill specializes in testing and sex offender treatment. He also assisted in the Rule 29 certification and is a part of the multidisciplinary team.

Kathy Faver, MSW, LICSW

Kathy has worked worked in the human service field since 1987.  She has spent the last 15 years working as a Mental Health Therapist with Upper Mississippi Mental Health Center, Counseling & Assessment Services of Bemidji and Assessment & Counseling Services of North Homes, Inc.  She joined North Homes, Inc. in 2006 and assisted in the creation and organization of our Rule 29 clinic in Bemidji Minnesota.  Kathy provides complete diagnostic assessments and provides treatment and therapy plans.  She provides individual, couples and family therapy to the adolescent and adult population.  Specialty areas include serious and persistent mental illness, sexual and physical abuse victims, sex offender treatment, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety disorders.  Kathy collaborates and consults with other mental health providers, corrections and human services personnel, hospitals and foster care agencies to provide a continuum of care and follow-up/referral/case management services.  Kathy also serves on the Collaborative for the Management of Sexual Offenders in the 7 county area.

Colin Heglund is a LPP working towards his LP which is anticipated to be certified in January 2010. He is clinically supervised by Bill Faver. Colin completes Diagnostic Assessments, Individual and Family Therapy, DBT groups, and psychotherapy groups at the Bemidji high School. Colin completes the 35 day evaluations that come through the Evergreen Shelter in Bemidji which NHI collaborates with. Colin is certified to provide Rorschach testing and is also trained to complete other Psychological testing.

Stephanie Bumgardner, MSW LICSW

Stephanie joined North Homes, Inc. is 2007 as a Social Worker and has since been working on her certification in the area of Play Therapy.  Stephanie is a member of THRIVE and is working with the community to make 0-5 Diagnostic Assessments available in the area. Stephanie has been working primarily with teens and play therapy with younger children.

Marjorie Baumgartner-Hill received her Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota.  She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).  She has over 25 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and adults.   She admires the courage of those who seek therapy. “It is a privilege to be a part of the process of facilitating hope and healing to those who are struggling with the challenges of life.”  Marjorie welcomes children, teens, adults and couples into the counseling process.  She enjoys working with people in their efforts to make better life choices, to better manage stress in their lives and to develop more effective and healthy communication and interpersonal relationship skills. She believes that when we work from our strengths we make the most progress in meeting our goals. Marjorie has presented workshops addressing issues related to stress management, communications, and family living.
