These services are presently
being provided in the counties of Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, and Itasca. Services are designed to strengthen families and
reduce the need for out-of-homes placements. Under the clinical supervision of
a mental health professional, practitioners work in the family's homes and
develop treatment goals that focus on the needs of the family and the SED
diagnosed child. The services may focus on both the mental health needs of the
child as well as parenting education, teen parenting, reunification services,
behavior management, behavior contracting, stress management, and other more
specific goals to meet the needs of the children and families served.
The In-Home and FCSS services are also available as a
transitional service for youth transitioning out of either Professional Family
Foster Care or IJC programs, so as to assist the youth in transitioning back
into his/her community or as an independent living program.
